Sumiko offer a trade-in program for MC cartridges, so if you have an older cartridge or a cartridge that has been damaged in a way that cannot be covered by warranty, you can trade-in your current model for a discount on your next purchase.
Thanks to the program, you can now consider your Moving Coil cartridge investment as a similar one to a Moving Magnet cartridge. With a Moving Magnet cartridge, if you ever have any damage or issues you can replace the stylus for a cheaper price - with the Sumiko trade-in program you can now get a new Moving Coil cartridge, so long as your current cartridge is applicable for the program.
The trade-in program is available for customers who currently have a Sumiko Moving Coil cartridge they would like to trade-in, in cases where the customer would like to buy a modern equivalent model, a like-for-like replacement, or if they would like to upgrade. If you are trading in a cartridge that is part of the current range, you can take 25% of the latest SRP for your cartridge and apply that as a discount on a new replacement, or a more expensive model. Simply speak with your dealer and tell them of your plans, so they can set-up the trade-in with us.
If you are trading in a discontinued cartridge, then we will need your original proof of purchase to calculate your allowable discount. Simply present your original proof of purchase to your dealer, and they can take 25% of that value to apply as a discount on a modern equivalent model or on your preferred upgrade.
