Urgent order items are products that we do not normally carry on stock, but they are typically held on stock by our European suppliers. Depending on availability, we will seek to order these products quickly, when we have an enquiry. They can therefore be subject to quicker availability times than "Special Order" products.
Special Order items are those that are most often built to order. For these items, we tend to experience longer lead times as we negotiate them into the production line with our suppliers.
The Ortofon AS-212R and AS-309R tonearms are reference class devices. All aspects of the tonearms design and construction have been meticulously engineered to minimise unwanted vibration and distortion, ensuring a crisp, clear, and accurate sound.
Ortofon have been designing tonearms since 1953, and these latest models have been named in the same style as some of their legendary forbears. Taking their names from the distance between the tonearm pivot point and the record player spindle, the AS-212R (9”) and AS-309R (12”) can be adjusted in height to fit a wide range of turntable models.
Thanks to the high quality SME-style universal connector, the tonearms are also capable of accommodating a wide range of headshell-mounted cartridges, as well as Ortofon’s own iconic SPU cartridge range. The high-quality of the connector and the ease of operation allows music lovers to make cartridge changes to suit different musical styles or distinct parts of their record collection.
The Ortofon Reference Tonearms are statically balanced and feature an easy-to-adjust anti-skate dial. Finished with a 5-pin DIN tonearm socket for easy cable upgrades and flexibility in wider system connection, the tonearms are easy to add to an existing vinyl system.
Each AS-212R and AS-309R is supplied with a high quality 6NX-TSW-1010 5P > RCA tonearm cable and includes two counterweight options, allowing you to set-up and partner with a wide variety of systems and cartridges straight out of the box.
