C-Dur Concrete
The C-Dur turntable from E.A.T. is an elegant, eye-catching record player that elevates your experience with vinyl to new heights. The C-Dur utilises principles way beyond its price point with features such as a mass-loaded plinth, and cardan design tonearm, resulting in numerous sonic and aesthetic advantages.

Plinth

The plinth for the C-Dur applies a mass loaded design, using MDF over 50mm thick to ensure that any vibrations are absorbed, the result is a drastically minimised vibrational impact on audio quality during playback. The imposing base for the turntable is positioned on top of three damped aluminium feet that utilise a conical design, making sure vibrations are deterred away from the turntable. Both features culminate to provide a solid, sturdy base that results in a smooth, superior performance.

Platter

As a way of adding further mass into the turntable and creating a stable surface to play your records on, E.A.T has supplied the C-Dur with a heavy aluminium platter weighing over 5kg. The platter has then been damped with thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) to provide further density and stability during use. An aluminium sub-platter is then employed to further isolate the platter from the motor and improve the tolerances of the turntable.

An inverted ceramic ball bearing has been used to support the platter so that rotation is consistent during playback without any detriment to speed. Furthermore, the C-Dur utilises an improved drive system that isolates the motor in a steel ring which is then positioned in the chassis, again contributing to the uniform rotation of the platter.

Tonearm

Due to the increased scale of the C-Dur, the turntable has been fitted with E.A.T’s 10-inch C-Note tonearm, which due to its length, will lend to improved tracking of the record groove. The C-Note incorporates both aluminium and carbon-fibre into its unpivot design for increased rigidity along with dexterity, ensuring playback is smooth and any unwanted motor vibrations are not transported through to the cartridge.

The construction of carbon-fibre and aluminium used in the C-Note tonearm combines perfectly with the C-Dur and the anti-resonance properties that have been incorporated into the turntable, all to ensure the best experience for the listener.

Cartridge

The C-Dur has been fitted from factory with an E.A.T Jo No.5 moving coil cartridge. The Jo No.5 is manufactured using a unique process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLC), which processes thin layers of powder to build the final structure. The Jo No.5 is made with a nude fine line stylus that will provide you with great precision and detail, that will match the efficiency of the other components used.

Colour Options

The C-Dur turntable is available in either a Satin Black or High-gloss Plum finish as standard, with both options lending a luxurious finish to the turntable. Alternatively, the C-Dur can be purchased in a deluxe concrete finish as a special order; the concrete accomplishes a beautiful finish that radiates alongside the aluminium counterparts.

The C-Dur also comes supplied with a felt mat, dust cover as well as an audiophile 5pin to RCA cable to run the signal out of the turntable.

  • Premium build quality featuring mass loaded principles throughout the design
  • Sturdy aluminium platter providing sleek aesthetics
  • Fitted with EAT's C-Note 10" Carbon-Aluminium Tonearm

The imposing base for the turntable is positioned on top of three damped aluminium feet that utilise a conical design, making sure vibrations are deterred away from the turntable. Platter

As a way of adding further mass to the turntable and creating a stable surface to play your records on, E.A.T. supplies the C-Dur with an oversized platter that weighs 5.2kg. The platter is internally damped with thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) to provide further density and stability during use. An aluminium sub-platter is then employed to further isolate the platter from the motor and improve the tolerances of the turntable.

The sub-platter rides on an inverted ceramic ball main bearing that mates with a Teflon plate for reliable speed stability in use. Furthermore, the C-Dur utilises an improved drive system that isolates the motor in a steel ring which is then positioned in the chassis, again contributing to the uniform rotation of the platter and reduced transfer of resonance.

Tonearm

Due to the increased scale of the C-Dur's main platter, the turntable has been fitted with E.A.T’s technically sophisticated 10-inch C-Note tonearm, which benefits from improved tracking of the record groove due to its longer length. The C-Note incorporates both aluminium and carbon fibre into its unpivot design for increased rigidity along with dexterity, ensuring playback is smooth and any unwanted motor vibrations are not transported through to the cartridge.

Cartridge

The C-Dur is offered with a pre-fitted Jo No.5 moving coil cartridge in the box. The Jo No.5 is manufactured using a unique process called Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), which processes thin layers of powder to build the final structure. The Jo No.5 is made with a nude fine-line stylus that will provide you with great precision and detail, that will match the efficiency of the other components used.

If you would prefer, the C-Dur is also available supplied without a cartridge.

Have it your way

The C-Dur turntable is available in either a Satin Black or High-gloss Plum finish as standard, with both options lending a luxurious finish to the turntable.

For a limited time, the model is also available in a striking concrete finish. Concrete is a popular material in high-end audio thanks to its excellent acoustic characteristics, and when employed on the C-Dur it elevates the turntable to the next level of performance and aesthetic appeal.

The Key series by E.A.T. is an excellent introduction to the brand and the various principles incorporated into its turntables that make the range so sought after. With meticulous attention to build quality and detail, the Key series is a fantastic source of true musical enjoyment with deluxe aesthetics, providing a sense of reassurance and confidence in its quality.

The C-Dur model hones its focus on the mass-loaded principle and using this to provide stability during playback; with both a heavy aluminium platter and a sturdy plinth serving as the base of the turntable, the C-Dur is sure to aid in delivering peak sonic performance. Other crucial attributes such as the 10-inch C-Note carbon-fibre tonearm, Jo No. 5 cartridge, and a selection of luxurious finishes make the C-Dur a prime example of not sacrificing elegance and beautiful appearances for acoustic perfection.

The Concrete finish is my favourite as it is unique to the turntable. The turntable's aluminium components shine against the plinth's rough exterior, resulting in a beautiful record player that belongs at the centre of any audiophile's system.
